Annual Charity Golf Tournament Raises $37,000 For Children, Families and Veterans
Binghamton, NY (October 19, 2023) – The 22nd Annual Jim “Mudcat” Grant Legacy All-Star Golf Tournament was a huge success, bringing together the community to help raise $37,000 to benefit children, families, and U.S. military veterans in Broome County.
Security Mutual Life Chairman, Bruce Boyea, and Security Mutual Life President and CEO, Kirk Gravely, presented $7,500 each to the Broome County Urban League, The Boys and Girls Club of Binghamton, and the food pantries of CHOW and Catholic Charities. In addition, a separate event held during the tournament raised $7,000 for homeless veterans in Broome County.

This year’s Tournament included over 30 celebrities and took place on August 31 at the Links at Hiawatha Landing in honor of the late tournament founder and famed major league baseball player, entertainer, and sports broadcaster Jim “Mudcat” Grant.
“It’s amazing to me that it’s been 22 years. A lot of golf tournaments don’t last as long as this. This one is only getting stronger. And I think it’s only getting stronger because of the mission. “Mudcat” wanted to create something that would give back to the community in a very profound way,” stated Bruce Boyea, Security Mutual Life Chairman of the Board.
