Annual Charity Golf Tournament Raises $39,000 for Children, Families and Veterans
Binghamton, NY – The 23rd Annual Jim “Mudcat” Grant Legacy All-Star Golf Tournament was a success, bringing together so many in the community to help raise $39,000 to benefit children, families, and U.S. military veterans in Broome County. The Broome County Urban League, the Boys & Girls Club of Binghamton, and the food pantries of the Broome County Council of Churches (CHOW®) and Catholic Charities each received $7,500. In addition, a separate event held during the tournament raised $9,000 for homeless veterans in Broome County.

The tournament included over 25 celebrities and took place on August 29 at the Links at Hiawatha Landing, in honor of the late tournament founder and famed Major League Baseball player, entertainer, and sports broadcaster, Jim “Mudcat” Grant.
“Watching this tournament endure and expand over the last 23 years has been amazing and a testament to the generous spirit so prevalent in our area. Although “Mudcat” is no longer with us, his legacy of giving back lives on through this tournament,” stated Bruce Boyea, Security Mutual Life Chair of the Board.
