The 2019 Sock Out Cancer® benefit concert will be a celebration of music’s greatest decade . . . the ’80s! The event takes place Friday, April 12, and will feature music from two of that era’s greatest bands—Santana and Journey. And performing some of these bands’ chart-topping hits will be none other than Alex Ligertwood, former lead singer for Santana, and Kevin Chalfant, who has performed on stage as lead vocalist with Journey. Backing Ligertwood and Chalfant will be the world-traveled eight-piece Philip Myers Band, who will also be performing classic songs from Van Halen, Toto, Led Zeppelin, Joan Jett, Styx, Survivor, Boston, and U2.

“We’re going to perform some of the greatest songs of the ’80s ever recorded,” said Philip Myers. “We’re excited to be a part of it, it’s going to be a fantastic concert, and most importantly we’re going to raise some funds for a very worthwhile cause. We are looking forward to April 12^th and we’re going to pack the place, so come out and support it.”

Net proceeds from the event will go to the UHS Foundation and Lourdes Hospital Foundation to assist cancer patients and their families referred by UHS and Lourdes Hospital case workers.

Therefore we are pleased to announce that a number of complimentary tickets will be available to local cancer patients. Lourdes Hospital and UHS will be sharing tickets with their cancer patients, and a limited number of complimentary tickets will also be available by calling 607-338-SOCK.”

The general public can purchase concert tickets through Ticketmaster as well as at the Arena box office. As part of a special promotion, people purchasing their tickets at the Arena box office will also receive a complimentary pair of Sock Out Cancer’s signature multi-colored socks*—a $10 value—with each ticket purchased. “We really wanted a way to say ‘thank you’ to the people who are purchasing concert tickets to help Sock Out Cancer,” said Boyea. “In addition, wearing the socks is a visible display of love and support for everyone fighting cancer, so we encourage everyone attending the April 12 concert to wear their socks as we come together as a community to help Sock Out Cancer.”
