“At every step, and it seems like every month, Security Mutual is there acting on behalf of the community, stepping up for people in need. And whether it’s through the pandemic, or through economic downturns, there’s no hesitation by Security Mutual to continue to give back to the community, to celebrate the folks who work here, and as Mayor I cannot be more proud to call Binghamton the home of Security Mutual,” stated Binghamton Mayor, Jared Kraham.

In honor of Security Mutual Week, downtown Binghamton will be adorned with Security Mutual Life flags and hanging flower baskets, sponsored by Security Mutual Life, to help beautify the City.

“Security Mutual Week gives us a window of opportunity to highlight our involvement in the community and to make note that a single week is carved out to represent a full year of initiatives and activity. We are proud to serve this community and are looking to spread that service across the country, while always giving recognition to our home-base city of Binghamton, New York,” said Kirk Gravely, President & CEO of Security Mutual Life.

Additionally, local officials from New York State and Broome County, joined representatives from Sock Out Cancer® and Security Mutual Life in presenting resolutions proclaiming June 4, 2023, Sock Out Cancer Day across New York State. Sock Out Cancer Day coincides with National Cancer Survivors Day®. Sock Out Cancer also announced upcoming initiatives and events, across the community, to raise money to further benefit local cancer patients and their families.

“We are now in six states, and it is growing, but it all started right here, and this really is the spark plug of everything going on,” said Bruce Boyea, Security Mutual Life Chairman of the Board.

Founded in 2017, the mission of Sock Out Cancer is to assist financially distressed cancer patients and their families pay for non-medical necessities such as food, transportation, and housing, so that patients can focus their energy on fighting cancer.
