COVID-19 (coronavirus) Information

To Our Policyholders:

We are all learning about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it is impacting our world.  This also means how it is affecting our policyholders, employees, and community. Our management team is closely monitoring the coronavirus developments to mitigate any potential business disruption or inconvenience.

The health, safety and financial well-being of our customers, employees, agents and communities is of the utmost importance to us. We encourage you to regularly visit the CDC website www.cdc.gov and the websites of your state and county Health Departments for the latest information to help minimize possible exposure to this virus.

Be assured that Security Mutual Life is fully operational to meet your needs. In addition, Security Mutual continues to work very closely with BlackRock Financial Management, Inc. (one of the largest U.S.-based external managers of insurance company general account assets), to manage Security Mutual’s fixed income investment portfolio in order to support our products during periods of market and economic volatility, and create long-term value for our policyholders. Prudent management and strict oversight have enabled Security Mutual to mitigate the impact of recent market instability and maintain our traditionally strong portfolio.

To any Security Mutual customers who have been affected by COVID-19, please know that we are here to assist you during these trying times. Please contact us if your condition is impacting your ability to make a premium payment on time. We can explain your policy provisions and provide expedited handling should you wish to access available monies from your policy or contract.

Remember also that through My Security Mutual®—our self-service customer portal—you can easily access your policy details and annual statements, make online payments, obtain customer service forms, and more.

Thank you for being a Security Mutual policyholder. As The Company That Cares® we take great pride in being your life insurance provider to help protect you against life’s uncertainties.

During our 133-year history, Security Mutual has continued service to our policyholders and maintained financial stability through numerous national and worldwide upheavals. We look forward to serving you safely as we work through this situation together and will continue to update you as needed.
