30 All-Stars and other celebrities are set to hit a hole-in-one for local charities at the 24th Annual Jim “Mudcat” Grant Legacy All-Star Golf Tournament taking place Thursday, August 28, 2025, at The Links at Hiawatha Landing. Presented by Security Mutual Life, the tournament helps support educational, recreational, wellness and other programs offered by the Broome County Urban League and the Boys and Girls Club of Binghamton, as well as the food programs run by CHOW® and Catholic Charities of Broome County.

Celebrities and former professional athletes will be coming from across the country to show support for this annual tournament. Attendees of this year’s tournament will include former New York Yankee and Black Ace*, Al Downing; former New York Yankee, Ron Blomberg; former New York Met, Art Shamsky; and former Syracuse University Center, Roosevelt Bouie.

“We look forward to the Jim “Mudcat” Grant Legacy All-Star Golf Tournament every year. Working together with these amazing charitable organizations, to make a difference in the lives of so many in our area, is what it’s all about. Seeing everyone come together in support of the Greater Binghamton area is such a rewarding experience for everyone involved,” stated Kirk R. Gravely, President and Chief Executive Officer of Security Mutual Life.

The Jim “Mudcat” Grant Legacy All-Star Golf Tournament was established in 2002 by Security Mutual Life and the late Jim “Mudcat” Grant, together with his fellow members of The Black Aces, to help make an impact on the lives of local children and families in the Greater Binghamton area. Additionally, a separate fundraising event is held during the tournament, with those proceeds being used to help support U.S. veterans, particularly transitional veterans in Broome County.

“We can’t thank the charities, celebrities, sponsors, and volunteers enough for their participation in this tournament. This event would not be possible without them. It’s amazing that we’ve continued this tradition for 24 years; a true testament to the legacy of “Mudcat,” said Bruce W. Boyea, Security Mutual Life Chair of the Board.
