Security Mutual Life Announces Details for the 25th Annual Jim “Mudcat” Grant Legacy All-Star Golf Tournament
Over 20 all-stars and other celebrities are ready to tee up to support local charities at the 25th annual Jim “Mudcat” Grant Legacy All-Star Golf Tournament taking place Thursday, September 3, 2026, at The Links at Hiawatha Landing. Presented by Security Mutual Life, the tournament helps support educational, recreational, wellness and other programs offered by the Boys & Girls Club of Binghamton and the Broome County Urban League, as well as the food programs run by CHOW® and Catholic Charities of Broome County.
Celebrities and former professional athletes will be coming from across the country to show support for this annual tournament. Headlining this year’s attendees will be Black Aces* Ferguson “Fergie” Jenkins and Dave Stewart. Other celebrities will include former New York Yankee, Ron Blomberg; former New York Met, Art Shamsky; and former Syracuse University center, Roosevelt Bouie.
“Each year, we are thrilled to come together for the Jim “Mudcat” Grant Legacy All-Star Golf Tournament. This special event allows many in our community to rally around a shared purpose: making a meaningful difference for local nonprofits in our area,” stated Kirk R. Gravely, President and Chief Executive Officer of Security Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York.
The Jim “Mudcat” Grant Legacy All-Star Golf Tournament was established in 2002 by Security Mutual Life and the late Jim “Mudcat” Grant, together with his fellow members of The Black Aces*, to help make a positive impact on the lives of local children and families in the Greater Binghamton area. Additionally, a separate fundraising event is held during the tournament, with those proceeds being used to help support U.S. veterans, particularly veterans in need of transitional housing in Broome County.
“We extend our heartfelt thank you to the charities, celebrities, volunteers, and sponsors who participate in this tournament year after year. Without their support and dedication, this event would not be possible. It has grown into such a special tradition for our area, and we believe “Mudcat” would be proud to see his legacy continue through the tournament’s positive impact on our community,” said Bruce W. Boyea, Security Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York Chair of the Board.
